The Captain’s Chair Gen 2 is Tern’s premium rear passenger seat, designed to bring comfort, safety, and versatility to your cargo bike setup. Whether you're carrying a big kid, an adult, or switching to cargo mode, this upgraded seat delivers a flexible solution for everyday riding.

Featuring an extra-wide seat pad and a reclined backrest, the Gen 2 version offers a cozier sitting position for passengers. Extended side rails double as handholds or armrests, while the rear bar provides mounting points for bags, baskets, or safety lights. Two integrated bottle mounts add convenience for drinks or locks, and the entire setup is designed to allow vertical parking of the bike without removal.

When paired with the Sidekick Joyride Bars, the Captain’s Chair creates a semi-enclosed cabin that’s ideal for older kids or adult passengers. Remove the seat pad, and the same structure transforms into a stable platform for hauling crates, boxes, or bulky gear. It’s a dual-purpose upgrade that adapts to your lifestyle.
